Quake Champions

HIggy mentioned this a while ago, but didn't see a post on here, so figured I'd share.

Here's TotalBiscuit's look at it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02Ikb6B55Qc

Get a closed beta code (at least I did when I went to the site today): https://quake.bethesda.net/en/signup

Looks interesting, but I'm old. Maybe if it was just us old people playing together it could be fun.

I played it for about an hour and all I can is that it's damn fast compared to any FPS on the market currently. I held my own a few matches but I was mostly getting owned. I'm sure once I got to know the maps I would do a lot better. Overall I had fun playing it.

I can't get it installed. The Bethesda launcher (great, needed another of those) doesn't show QC, so I haven't been able to try it yet.

This "closed beta" happens pretty much every weekend if anyone else wants to give it a try.

Honestly yet another launcher is a huge turnoff for me. I've already got 4 on my pc...

this is now "open beta" so the servers are up 24/7. They also added private/custom matches, so us old men can play together without getting slaughtered by the youngins.

This no longer requires its own launcher - you can use Steam. It is also free to download until June 20th (and if you download it, it is added to your library and yours from that point on). I've played some with a couple other guys and it is good fun. Brings back some good Quake memories. They added instagib too. Pick it up while it is free.
